How to Make the Cleanest Iced Coffee for Peak Summer Performance
Premium mold-free coffee.
As summer approaches, the number of hot days has increased considerably. When it gets this hot, don't you long for a crisp, cold "iced coffee" to kick-start your morning or refresh you during a work break?
In fact, we've been receiving many requests from customers saying, "I want to make delicious iced coffee with mold-free coffee!" So this time, we're sharing the shop owner's secret recipe for "the cleanest iced coffee" that you can easily enjoy at home, café-quality!
・The "rapid cooling method" with ice is the best!
There are several ways to make iced coffee, but if you want to bring out the clean aroma and sharpness of the beans to the fullest, the "rapid cooling method" – rapidly chilling freshly brewed hot coffee with ice – is highly recommended. You can directly enjoy the transparent clarity free of undesirable flavors and the refreshing sweetness that becomes more prominent when chilled.
■ Recipe for exquisite iced coffee made with the golden ratio
【What you need (for 1 serving)】 ・Premium mold-free coffee grounds: 15g to 18g (slightly more than usual to make it stronger) ・Hot water: 100ml ・Ice: plenty in a glass (approx. 100g)
【Steps for delicious brewing】
-
Fill the glass with plenty of ice. The trick to retaining the most aroma is to drip directly into a glass with ice from the start, rather than using a server.
-
Steam thoroughly as usual. Slightly moisten the entire grounds with hot water and steam for about 30 seconds. At this point, please enjoy the fresh aroma that swells up.
-
Drip a concentrated extract. Slowly pour 100ml of hot water in several stages, dripping the strong coffee directly onto the ice.
-
Finally, stir quickly. Once dripping is complete, quickly stir the entire mixture with a spoon to chill it thoroughly. When the ice has melted to the perfect strength (approx. 150ml), it's done!
・Truly clean beans: "You'll know the difference when they're cold."
As I mentioned in the previous newsletter, conventional coffee beans tend to develop an unpleasant acidity and harshness when they cool down or are chilled. This is often because moisture management during transportation and storage was inadequate, leading to the effects of invisible mold.
However, our beans, which have been thoroughly rid of mycotoxins and have their moisture content controlled, truly shine even more when made into iced coffee.
Even when cold, there is absolutely no unpleasant aftertaste in your mouth, only a refreshing sensation that glides smoothly down your throat, and a gentle, rich taste like high-quality chocolate remains.
Even for those like me who tend to get an upset stomach from coffee, this clean iced coffee is so gentle on the body that you can gulp it down as a substitute for summer hydration.
To get through a hot summer day with peak performance, please use the ice in your refrigerator and experience this perfectly clear, cool luxury.
